Giving God best

Greetings everyone!
Welcome to the Valley Disciples webpage.
This is new page since we got a new church name "Turning point" Its great to start something new I like new, and I’m sure God loves fresh and new things, and ideas. He is creator so he constantly working on something new and exciting like an artist creating his next masterpiece. I'm going to update this every Sunday just remembering the best points from Sunday service and I would love everyone share they thoughts and prayers here I like this idea because you can see what people think and what the prayer needs are .Its seems everyone is straggling with something so its good to know what to pray for...

.2 Thessalonians 1:11 With this in mind, we constantly pray for you, that our God may count you worthy of his calling, and that by his power he may fulfill every good purpose of yours and every act prompted by your faith. 12We pray this so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

So here's a reminder points that I've learned from the last Sunday service on June 3,2007 (I will be using full passages from the scriptures used at service for a better understanding)

Main points
1.The Lord our God is one;
2.Love the Lord your God with all your passion.
3.Love others as well as you love yourself.

Our purpose is to "Go to the people of all nations and make them disciples Matthew 28:19.... and another purpose is to
Love-Care-Grow-Serve & Share

Mark 12:28 The Greatest Commandment

28 One of the teachers of the law came and heard them debating. Noticing that Jesus had given them a good answer, he asked him, "Of all the commandments, which is the most important?"
29 "The most important one," answered Jesus, "is this: 'Hear, O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is one. 30 Love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength. 31The second is this: 'Love your neighbor as yourself. ‘There is no commandment greater than these."
32 "Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him. 33 To love him with all your heart, with all your understanding and with all your strength, and to love your neighbor as yourself is more important than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."

Questions to consider???
Am I loving God out loud, and people with all my heart?
Is God getting the best of me? .... Hard questions but important ones

2 Peter 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything in it will be laid bare.

11 Since everything will be destroyed in this way, what kind of people ought you to be? You ought to live holy and godly lives 12 as you look forward to the day of God and speed it’s coming. That day will bring about the destruction of the heavens by fire, and the elements will melt in the heat. 13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.

Two reasons I don’t give my best to God:

First reason: In my heart, I feel that God__________ is not giving me his best.

Jeremiah 15:18 "Why do I keep on suffering? Why is my pain unending and my wound grievous and incurable? Will you be to me like a deceptive brook, like a spring that dries?
19 To this is what the LORD says: "If you repent, I will restore you that you may serve me; if instead of talking nonsense you proclaim a worthwhile message you will be my prophet my spokesman. Let this people turn to you, but you must not turn to them.

Second reason: I just don’t have time to give God my best.

Matthew 6:19-21 Treasures in Heaven

19"Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. 20 But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.... 24"No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.

Here's my understanding what Matthew is telling here is Love of money is a root to all evil it doesn’t meant you have to stop making money to provide for yourself and family but we can put money above God and his values as we all know people do crazy things for money including murder, stealing, drugs, sex and all kinds of sin. Well the moral of that story is like I always say you cant take your bag of money your treasures with you when you are dead you are going to God and your posessions are staying here on earth for someone else to enjoy them so when you do have money splendid wisely and don’t be greedy

“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.”- 1 Thessalonians 5:11.
...Wow. As in fact you are doing??? I didn’t know that I could encourage some one but just simply obeying Gods word? ha ha ha well its joke I know as well you know how impacting you can be to other people but simply not be perfect all the time but trying giving and doing your best because everyone has potential that we are not always using.
